The OTOP in Region 8 lets you experience the culture and life which the Waray’s and Cebuano-speaking residents in Eastern Visayas are very proud of. From the exquisite foods which has been taught to be prepared from generation to generation, to the skillfully crafted items made of indigenous raw materials, in here we present.

Aside from the municipal focus product, the six provinces that compose Eastern Visayas also identified their own provincial OTOP. These identified Provincial OTOPs also represent the product a province is known for, and the opportunities which we hope our MSMEs can do business with you.

For Leyte, it is Processed Mango. This offers processing and production of up to 24,000 kgs. dried mango and 9,000 gallons of mango juice.

Processed food is the Provincial OTOP for Southern Leyte, while Biliran province focus on Processed Coco-based products.

Known for its rich marine resources, the  Eastern Samar OTOP its Seaweeds production, while it is Mariculture Products for the Province of Northern Samar.

The OTOP of Samar Province is Mussel. This has been a major employment generating product because aside from the meat which is processed into tahong chips, tahong adobo in bottles, its shell can be made into beautiful decors.

Many other unique and interesting products are available in Eastern Visayas. It is our hope that though these products we will be able to interact and do business with you.

Primary sources of revenue are manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade and services. Mining, farming, fishing and tourism contribute significantly to the economy Manufacturing firms include mining companies, fertilizer plants, sugar central, rice and corn mills and other food processing plants.
Eastern Visayas, Region VIII, Philippines
The region encompasses the two large islands of Leyte and Samar, the province of Biliran and several minor islands. This region is the eastern boundary of the Philippines. The San Bernardino Strait separates Eastern Visayas from Luzon in the southeast while the Surigao Strait separates the province of Leyte from the northeastern part of Mindanao. The Visayan and Camotes Seas separate the region from the rest of the Visayas. On the east, the region faces the Pacific Ocean.

Kasadyaan is a pageantry of colorful and diverse festivals of the municipalities of Leyte depicting their culture, history and way of life.
